Mobile App Privacy
The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your personal information when you use the Penn State Arts Ticket Center mobile application, powered by FanThreeSixty.
Information We Collect
When you use the app to manage tickets, check in at events with Arts Pass, or take photos using the Fan Cam feature, we may collect:
- Personal Identifiers: Name and email address (required to create an account). Optional fields include postal code, mobile phone number, birthday or age range, gender, favorite genres, and annual household income.
- Device and Usage Data: IP address, device type, device ID, app usage patterns, performance metrics, and diagnostic data (e.g., crash logs).
- Profile Photo: Stored with your account for login purposes; not publicly displayed.
- Location Data: Used for event check-in via geofencing.
- Fan Cam Photos: If you choose to submit photos, they may be displayed in the app’s public gallery and used for marketing, fundraising, and audience engagement (e.g., during intermissions).
How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected to:
- Provide and improve app functionality and user experience.
- Communicate event-related updates and promotional offers (if you opt in).
- Enable location-based check-in for events.
- Display Fan Cam photos in public galleries and marketing materials, as described above.
Data Sharing
Penn State does not sell your personal information. Data may be shared with:
- FanThreeSixty: As the app provider, for operational purposes.
- Authorized Service Providers: Assisting with app functionality and related services.
- Legal Authorities: If required by law.
Ticketmaster: No data collected through the app is shared with Ticketmaster. While Ticketmaster ticketing data may be imported into the app for targeted communications, app data is not sent to Ticketmaster.
Sony Ci Media Cloud: Photos submitted via Fan Cam are stored on Sony Ci Media Cloud, a third-party service used for moderation and publishing. Before using Fan Cam, users must review a statement about how we use their image and accept the Sony Ci Media Cloud Terms of Service.
Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. FanThreeSixty also maintains security protocols that comply with industry standards.
Your Choices
You can:
- Opt out of promotional communications at any time.
- Manage data preferences in the app settings.
- Disable location services and push notifications in your device settings.
- Delete your account through the app.
Submitting a photo via Fan Cam is voluntary. If you wish to withdraw permission for a photo after submission, please contact us (see below).
